Crust Network Joins the Self Chain Ecosystem
The Self Chain ecosystem took a significant step forward this month with the integration of Crust Network, a Substrate-based, IPFS-powered decentralized storage Layer-1.
Crust is a leading force in decentralized storage, running on a global network of more than 1,000 nodes and boasting an impressive 700+ petabytes of capacity. Its permissionless storage marketplace makes it easy for websites, dApps, NFTs, and individuals to store and retrieve data with full security and reliability, without relying on centralized providers.
By integrating Crust with Self Chain’s intent-centric infrastructure and keyless wallet architecture, we’re unlocking secure, seamless access to decentralized storage for all Web3 applications. This partnership brings a critical utility layer to Self Chain, allowing users and developers to incorporate decentralized, permissionless storage into any on-chain workflow, one more step toward a unified Web3 experience.

Our commitment to pushing the boundaries of Web3 goes beyond infrastructure and into active conversation. On June 13th, we hosted the second episode of SelfCast, our roundtable series for open discussions on the most pressing topics in crypto.
This session focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and decentralized technology. We welcomed panelists from Crust Network, Kalp Network, and HyperGPT, diving deep into the potential of AI-driven systems and the practical challenges of building decentralized, AI-powered platforms in Web3.

Developmental Update
CosmWasm Integration Nears Completion
On the infrastructure side, the team has been heads-down, pushing forward with one of our most anticipated upgrades: CosmWasm support.
CosmWasm is now in the final stages of internal testing. Once live, it will unlock the ability for developers to deploy interoperable, high-performance smart contracts directly on Self Chain. CosmWasm’s modular, permissionless environment means builders will be able to create dApps that interact seamlessly across chains, expanding the range and quality of decentralized applications within our ecosystem.

Cedehub Trading Competition Wrap-Up
The fourth round of our ongoing trading competition with Cedehub concluded recently. Participants had the chance to trade $SLF and compete for daily $USDT rewards, driving both liquidity and engagement across the Self Chain network.

Self Academy Chapter 4: A Deep Dive into Account Abstraction
Education remains at the heart of Self Chain’s vision for Web3 adoption. On June 4, we published the fourth installment of Self Academy, our structured community education series. This chapter unpacks Account Abstraction and its transformative role within Self Chain’s wallet ecosystem.
Account Abstraction is a fundamental shift from the limitations of standard wallets to smart-contract accounts that are programmable, flexible, and user-focused. In Self Chain’s implementation, Account Abstraction enables features such as:
- Batch transactions: Combine multiple actions into a single, cost-effective transaction.
- Gas sponsorships: dApps or paymasters can sponsor gas fees, so users don’t need to hold native tokens for every transaction.
- ERC-20 token fee payments: Pay gas fees in ERC-20 tokens, reducing friction and making onboarding easier.
These features make onboarding and using Self Chain intuitive, even for users new to crypto.
